06 pay at Rabobank

If you want to transfer money, you usually need someone’s account number. Rabobank is now offering 06 payments, which means it is no longer necessary to have someone’s account number. This makes it possible to transfer and receive money via the telephone number of the account holder.

To use 06 payment, customers of Rabobank can register for this via the Rabo app. There you can activate the service by linking your mobile phone number to your account number. After this registration, it is possible for others to send you money via the 06 number. If you want to transfer money to someone via 06-payment, the recipient must first register for this in the Rabo app. When this has happened, after a transfer, the amount will be directly credited to the other’s account. Rabobank will check whether the number matches the account number, if you, as the payer, have entered the name of the recipient correctly. Transferring money is still done via the Rabo app, but you do not need an account number of the other person in this way.
