iPadOS 16.1 release date finally announced
It took a while, but Apple announced the release date of iPadOS 16.1 yesterday. The operating system will be available from October 24, 2022.

iPadOS 16.1 will be available for download next week
While iOS 16 is already out, we are still waiting for iPadOS 16. The word is finally out. With the announcement of the iPad 2022 and the iPad Pro 2022, we finally know the release date of iPadOS 16.1. Earlier we heard that Apple skips the first version (16.0) and immediately releases iPadOS 16.1.

Stage Manager on iPadOS 16.1: Worth the Wait?
So October 24 is the release date of iPadOS 16.1. So we can enjoy new features like Stage Manager. Apple had some problems with this feature, causing the release to be delayed. We expect the feature to work well when iPadOS 16 is out on October 24, although that remains to be seen.
The idea is that with Stage Manager you can park and group certain apps on the sidelines. This way you can easily switch between applications and your ‘main app’ remains nicely centered. iPadOS 16 also gives the Dock (at the bottom of your screen) a makeover. This looks fresher and now shows you which apps you have opened via dots.
