YouTube is testing a new in-app video scrolling gesture
When the app disappeared from YouTube with just a click last fall, many users did the least surprised, some even upset. The logical reason for such a change was that a simple tap on the screen can be done unintentionally by mistake, which the developers wanted to save the user. It is now necessary to hold your finger on the slider (wheel) and drag it forwards or backwards. If you also find it quite impractical (and we actually agree with you), you can look forward to a new gesture for scrolling.
A new option has been discovered in the YouTube application in versions 16.31.34 beta and 16.20.35, which will make it easier to control the position in the video. If the user hold your finger in the center of the screen, can then drag left or right to control playback. Other mobile players work in a similar way, and this is undoubtedly a friendlier way of scrolling than trying to drive a tiny wheel at the bottom of the video. The new gesture seems to be in the testing phase and appears in the application to a selected group of people. We haven’t been lucky yet.
Does this new gesture work for you in the YouTube app?
