You can now also buy Google Pixel Stand 2 in the Google Store

The Google Pixel Stand 2 is now available for purchase in the Google Store. The successor to Pixel Stand announced in October wasn’t immediately available from Google with the Pixel 7, but it is now. You can find it in the Dutch Google Store for a price of 79 euros.

The Google Pixel Stand 2 is intended to charge your Pixel phone wirelessly. You can also power other devices that can charge with Qi technology. It is not the first time that Google has made a Pixel Stand, but this second generation is slightly different. For example, the second generation Pixel Stand is less wide, but longer than the first. It also technically comes with bigger muscles: it can load faster and the cooling is better. Pixel Stand 2 charges at 23 watts, while the first generation has a maximum wattage of 10.

Like the first generation, the second generation comes with a 5-foot USB-C to USB-C cable that plugs into the included adapter to power it. The better cooling is there because it has a cooling with a fan. It can get quite hot when charging and that is never good for technology. More heat means more wear and tear: it is therefore best not to leave your phone in a charger for too long. Although many chargers have systems to ensure that the heat does not become too great, it is still better to prevent than to cure. So Pixel Stand 2 has a bigger cooling to make sure that heat is minimized.
