Unlock and craft FF16: Twilight of the Gods

The Twilight of the Gods is the best sword in Final Fantasy 16 in the first playthrough of the role-playing game. In order to unlock and craft it, certain requirements must be met. Here you will find all information about forging the Götterdämmerung in FF16.

Unlock Twilight of the Gods in FF16

An important note right at the beginning: To be on the safe side, you should never sell materials needed to craft gear during gameplay. There is a corresponding note for each item in the info box. If you sell the required materials for the Twilight of the Gods, you have no way of getting them back. Forging the Twilight of the Gods would then only be possible in a new playthrough or in New Game Plus.

In the first step, you must first Unlock the blueprint for making the Götterdämmerung from the blacksmith. For this you have to complete the following four side quests:

At the end of the quest line you will finally get the Daybreak blueprint. You will also receive the weapon “Ragnarok” as a reward. You also need this for the production of the Götterdämmerung. The list of other required materials is as follows:

find orichalcum

orichalcum can be obtained by defeating certain notorious hazards from the Hunt Board and by completing two specific side quests. The exact sources of supply are as follows:

Find Darksteel

darksteel can only be obtained by completing hunting missions. Note that the last objective here will only be unlocked after completing the 49th main quest “Back to the Source”. So before this quest, it is not possible to craft the Twilight of the Gods.

Find Primal Battle Horn

The primitive hunting horn is obtained after defeating the infamous threat Gobermouch. This is available from the 47th main quest “Brothers” on the hunt board.

Craft Twilight of the Gods

Once you have all the materials together, nothing stands in the way of making the Götterdämmerung. Go to the blacksmith in the hideout and get the best sword in the regular game. The Twilight of the Gods has a value of 375 in Attack and Fighting Spirit.
