Background sounds in iOS 15: this is how you turn them on
If you have trouble focusing, playing a constant sound in the background can help. That filters out any noise and calms your mind. in iOS 15, Apple added a special feature for this: Background Sounds. If you follow the step-by-step plan below, you can easily turn them on.
- Go to Settings;
- Choose ‘Accessibility’;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Audio/Visual’;
- Select ‘Background sounds’;
- Tap the slider next to “Background sounds.”
You will immediately hear the sound of running water. If your bladder can’t handle that very well, you can also choose one of five other sounds: balanced noise, clear noise, dark noise, ocean or rain. They aren’t necessarily pretty sounds, but they do help you focus. They are very constant and therefore do not distract.
iOS 15 gives you a few more options to adjust Background Sounds. This way you determine the volume, which works independently of how loud your music is, for example. You can also indicate whether the sounds should continue when you listen to a song or watch a video. In addition, you decide whether the sounds are stopped when you lock your phone.
