Electronic Arts is preparing a Black Panther video game

The second part of Black Panther will be released in theaters next November, unfortunately without the charismatic main actor of the first film, Chadwick Bosemanwho died of colon cancer in 2020. And it won’t just be the film: the journalist Jeff Grubb thus believes to know thatElectronic Artsand more precisely the studio EA based in Seattle, would take care of the development of a video game in the lore of Black Panther.

Grubb clarified that the name of the game internally is “Project Rainier” and that the gameplay will be closer to a traditional open-world action game. On the other hand, EA would favor single player and a fairly developed campaign mode, far from any mechanics specific to GAAS. Note that the studio would take into account the tragic disappearance of the actor and therefore of the first Black Panther: the player would embody the successor of Black Panther, a bit like Miles Morales took over from Peter Parker to embody Spiderman. This project is still only in its initial phase, which means that there is no chance that the game can land “in the waters” of the second film.
