Most traded stocks in April 2023: the details

Compared to March, the ranking of the most traded stocks in April 2023, as is so often the case, includes some familiar ones. For example, stocks from Tesla, Amazon and BASF are still extremely popular among Smartbroker customers. However, there was some rotation in the top ten again. Also: Two newcomers.

In focus: the Vonovia share

After the Vonovia share managed to jump to third place out of nowhere in March, the focus is on the real estate group this month as well. The company recently reported billions in losses. In order to raise fresh money, Vonovia then sold apartments worth around EUR 560 million.

At the end of March, the stocks bottomed out at EUR 15.66. After that it went uphill again. This was probably the main reason for the above-average number of buyers and sales at Smartbroker.

Most traded stocks in April: newcomer Infineon

In addition to the Vonovia shares, two newcomers in particular stand out. On the one hand, Plug Power shares are back in Smartbroker’s top ten after a two-month hiatus. In addition, the German chip manufacturer Infineon is included in the ranking for the first time.

This is probably mainly related to the construction of a new factory in Dresden. In doing so, the company wants to meet the continuing high demand for semiconductors and also minimize Europe’s dependence on vulnerable global supply chains.
