these features are still missing from Apple Music Classical

Apple Music Classical has finally launched, but it still lacks quite a few features. What is missing in the app?

Read on after the ad.

Apple Music Classical launched

After years of waiting, Apple has finally launched Apple Music Classical. With the music service you can listen to a total of more than 5 million classical songs and works. In Apple Music Classical you also have the option to search by composer, work, conductor or catalog number. This way you can easily find the best work of your favorite composer or conductor.

In addition to many functions that Apple Music Classical does have, there are also quite a few functions that are still missing. Curious what they are? We put together a number of missing functions for you.

1. Shuffle is still missing

Do you often use the shuffle button on Apple Music? Or on Spotify, for example? Then you’re out of luck with Apple Music Classical, because you simply don’t have the option to turn on shuffle there. Songs there can only be listened to in the order of the playlist, unless you manually change the order of the songs.

Very cumbersome, especially if you want to be surprised by the order in which the songs are played. It is not clear why the shuffle button is missing from Apple Music Classical, but it is hoped that Apple will add this function soon.

2. Apple Music Classical only works with internet

Another major drawback: Apple Music Classical only works when you’re connected to the internet. Are you not at home and do you have no internet coverage with your iPhone? Then you can no longer listen to Apple Music Classical. Very annoying, of course, if you have to make a long journey by plane, for example. You can then no longer listen to your favorite music in the app.

With Apple Music it is possible to save songs, albums and playlists. It is therefore expected that in the future it will also be possible to download classical music in Apple Music Classical, so that you can also listen to music from the app offline. For now it is in any case still a huge loss, especially if you are often on the road with poor or little coverage.

3. The app is only available for iPhone

With Apple Music Classical, Apple has chosen to only release an app for the iPhone. This is striking, because the service does not have a ‘real’ app for, for example, the iPad, Mac or Apple Watch.

Of course you can use the iPhone app on the iPad, for example, but we hope that a real iPad app will follow. All Android users are also excluded. Many fans of classical music are still unable to use Apple Music Classical because of this.

Besides the fact that this is of course annoying for anyone without an iPhone, Apple also misses a huge target group. If the company did release the music service for more devices, more people would be able to download Apple Music Classical. Apple will then receive more revenue.

Apple has already indicated that the app for Android will not be long in coming. It is therefore very likely that the Apple Music Classical app will soon be extended to other Apple products, such as the iPad and the Mac.
