These are this week’s 4 best iPhone apps and games (#30 – 2021)

Finally your own dog, a cool new feature for Spotify and learning about history in a fun way. These are the best iPhone apps and games from last week.

Read on after the ad.

1. My Dog

If you still think back nostalgically to the times of Tamagotchi’s, you should try My Dog. This app does about the same. In My Dog you have to make sure that your puppy grows into an adult four-legged friend, and that he does not lack anything in between.

At the start, you choose one of sixty different dog breeds. Next, you need to groom, feed, and of course play with your furry friend a lot. When friends of yours also have a MyDog, you can also come (virtually) together.

2. Nanogram Messenger

Chat service Telegram has its own app for the Apple Watch, but we are not a fan. The official app drops stitches here and there. The developer of Nanogram Messenger has also noticed this and has therefore developed its own app.

Nanogram Messenger is a full-fledged Telegram app for the Apple Watch. So you can send and receive messages from your wrist, without using your iPhone. Nanogram can handle FlickType, a custom keyboard for the Apple Watch. You need at least a Series 3 and watchOS 7 for the app.

3. Spotify

Spotify added a small, but useful improvement to the iOS app last week. The new What’s New timeline keeps you up to date with all the new albums, songs and podcast episodes. You can find the new list on the Spotify home screen by tapping the bell in the top right.

The new feature only shows new music and podcasts from artists you follow. With the filters at the top you can also find what you are looking for faster. With tens of thousands of hours of music added to Spotify every day, discovering new music is anything but easy. The new addition is nice, but we especially hope that Spotify will soon release the long-awaited Hifi package.

4. History Maps

Are you also fond of history? Then you should really try the new HistoryMaps app. As the name suggests, this platform lets you discover the world through history. The cool thing about this is that the history of a place comes to life, because you see in a visual way what has happened.

Also nice: users of HistoryMaps actively contribute to the platform. So you can upload your own maps and history timelines and teach others about an area/time that you know a lot about.
