The Frontify account manager uses these apps

In the “Homescreen!” series we present the homescreens of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Thomas Meichtry, Account Director at Frontify.

Thomas Meichtry started in 2018 as an intern at the Swiss brand management company Frontify. He then worked his way up and is now – four years later – Account Director, Global Strategic, overseeing some of the largest companies worldwide.

THomas Mechtry: Frontify has a “bring your own device” policy, which also makes my private smartphone my work smartphone.

The “Focus” feature available on iOS is very useful because it allows you to set up multiple home screens, notification rules and more. That’s why there are several home screens on my smartphone:

  • Do Not Disturb: When you don’t need notifications.
  • Personal: This is the standard mode outside of my working hours.
  • Work: Shows all apps that are important for working at Frontify.
  • Sleep: Turns on automatically every day at 10:00 p.m. and shows the battery status of the devices as well as the time and calendar for the next day.
  • Fitness: Automatically turns on during workouts and includes access to Fitness Summary, Music, Podcasts, and My Activity Summary.

Focus: “Work”

The focus mode “Work” is, as the name suggests, totally designed for work. The most important apps are at hand in the bottom rows and in the upper part there is an overview that includes the calendar, today’s to-do’s and quick access to my Gmail inbox. Apps at the bottom are designed for remote work:

Focus: “Personal”

This home screen has three pages: Smart Suggestions, Social Media and News & Finance. Smart Suggestions shows recommended apps and widgets based on location, time and activity, as well as access to car functions.

Social Media and News includes quick access to podcasts, Audible, music, social media, as well as news publications such as the BBC, SRF, Financial Times, or Post and Substack.

Finally, the Finance page contains an overview of the stock market, crypto, and access to popular apps such as Vontobel Volt, UBS, Swissborg and so on.
