Teaset Car Pei the first Nothing smartphone?

On Twitter, Carl Pei the founder of the new tech company Nothing teases the arrival of a first phone from the brand. He does so in a series of cryptic tweets to which the Twitter accounts of Android and Snapdragon also respond.

Car Pei, the co-founder of OnePlus, left the smartphone manufacturer at the end of 2020. He started a new adventure and founded the company Nothing, which in the meantime released a pair of wireless earphones and took over the bankrupt bankrupt smartphone maker Essential.

Everything indicated that Nothing will soon also sell its own smartphones and if we take a few tweets from Carl Pei, then his company seems to be working on that too. He recently wrote a tweet with the message: “Back to Android” and immediately followed equally cryptic reactions from the official Android and Snapdragon accounts on Twitter. One of them is a well-known meme that suggests that it is a collaboration.

That may all sound quite cryptic and speculative, but last week Carl Pei also came up with a remarkable response. First, he asked the question, “What is your favorite Android-based OS and why?”. When someone asked his opinion, he replied with: “You’ll find out soon enough”.

What do we already know?

For the time being, there is nothing meaningful to say about the features and specifications of an upcoming Nothing phone. Last year, 91Mobiles was already able to say that a Nothing phone will appear in early 2022. It would be a device with a Snapdragon processor.
