Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will get Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip

According to the latest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will have access to a fast Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This should ensure that the phone delivers high-end performance, but is still a lot cheaper than the other devices from the S23 series.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE – Fan Edition – should be the most affordable variant of the S23 series. At first it was not sure whether this phone would come, but the most recent rumors indicate this. Sammobile now comes with more news about which processor the S23 FE is likely to use. The website reports that this will probably be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This is Qualcomm’s fastest processor from last year and was mainly known for its fast performance and low power consumption. In other words, the chip was energy efficient and this meant that smartphones that used it generally had very good battery life.

Samsung’s FE smartphones are variants of the high-end devices from the company’s S line. Earlier, Samsung already came up with a Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE. The former was a great success. This smartphone had some specifications – including the chip – that were better than its more expensive brothers from the S20 series. For example, the 5G version of the S20 FE had a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip. A chipset that was faster and, above all, a lot more economical than the Exynos 990 processor used in the other devices from the S20 series. However, the S20 FE was much cheaper and therefore more accessible to a wider audience.

The S21 FE was unable to continue this success, due to the worldwide chip shortage, the phone arrived much too late and only weeks before the S22 series. The S21 FE was somewhat overshadowed by this. And this is a pity, since the device has a lot to offer for its price – which has already decreased at a rapid pace. For a current price of 500 euros, you get a good and extensive camera island, a beautiful and smooth AMOLED panel, a high-end Snapdragon 888 chip and five years of security updates.
