General information about Amazon’s cloud gaming service

“Luna” works in a similar way to other streaming services – you take out one of the monthly cancellable subscriptions and then have access to a selection of titles.

As a Prime customer, you can also use the service directly without an additional subscription, but you currently only have access to 5 games. It should be enough to test whether the cloud gaming service works smoothly with your devices and your internet connection.

You can also link Luna to your Ubisoft account to stream selected PC titles if you already own or buy them. You can find an overview of the compatible Ubisoft games in the Luna store.

The various subscriptions at a glance

In addition to the titles included in Prime, “Luna” offers three different game subscriptions. The packages offer different games. We have summarized what the subscriptions cost and what they offer in a table:

Prime Luna+ Ubisoft+ Jack Box Games
Price included with Prime 9.99 euros per month 17.99 euros per month 4.99 euros per month
Selection 5 games (alternating) over 100 games over 40 games 9 party packs

What does the competition offer?

Compared to the video streaming that we are used to, cloud gaming is still quite young and is subject to constant change. “Luna” only started in Germany at the beginning of 2023, while a few weeks earlier Google had discontinued its “Stadia” project.

Unfortunately, Amazon’s offer cannot keep up with the selection or the price-performance ratio of the competition such as “Game Pass Ultimate” or “PlayStation Plus Premium”. Linking it to your Ubisoft account is also well-intentioned, but compared to the 1,500 linkable titles from Nvidia’s “GeForce Now” cloud gaming service, it looks rather puny.
