New on Netflix July 2022

1. Stranger Things (season 4 volume 2)
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already seen the new episodes of Stranger Things, as they arrive on the first day of the month. You have to sit down for it, because these two episodes are extra long. You get one of 1.5 hours and one of 2.5 hours. That means enjoying no less than 4 hours of Stranger Things.

2. The Gray Man
It’s Chris Evans versus Ryan Gosling in this new action flick from Netflix. The film is about a talented CIA agent who accidentally discovers things he is not supposed to know. A former colleague puts a price on his head, after which he is chased by several murderers.

3. The Sea Beast/The Sea Beast
The Sea Beast (or Het Zeebeest in Dutch) is the latest animated film from Chris Williams, who previously worked at Disney on Mulan, Moana and Big Hero 6, among others. In The Sea Beast, a young girl hides on the ship of a legendary monster hunter. Together they sail through previously unexplored waters.

4. Resident Evil
After the successful Resident Evil films with actress Milla Jovovich based on the games of the same name, there are massive attempts to bring that success back. The latest effort is on Netflix this month, with a series that will be simply titled “Resident Evil.” The series follows different timelines, before and after the T-virus mutated humans into zombies.

5. Persuasion
Dakota Johnson stars in this new costume drama for Netflix, based on the Jane Austen book Persuasion. Johnson plays Anne Elliot, who reconnects with her ex-fiancé.
