ride without distraction and earn money for charity

Cycling and raising money for charity. That is the purpose of the new PhoNo app. You have to do something for it; and that is leaving your phone in your pocket when you get on your bike. The application should help you with this.

It was recently announced that many cyclists are still involved in an accident, mainly due to teenagers who quickly pick up the phone on the road. For many it is very tempting to text your girlfriends while cycling, to look something up, or to operate your Spotify. Under the heading ‘PhoNo, don’t let your phone steal your future. Don’t miss anything’, Interpolis especially wants to make young people aware of the dangers of ‘playing with the phone while cycling’;

“That first true love that leaves you speechless. To study. The first time alone on vacation. Your first driving lesson, moving into a room. You are about to experience many beautiful moments. But that one app on the bike can just cause you to miss all these moments.”

Where you always want to be reachable for your friends, leaving your phone in your pocket can be a pain. You can still participate in #PhoNo and thus support the North Sea Foundation. If you cycle with your phone in your pocket and don’t grab it in between, you contribute to a better environment. For every minute you cycle with the PhoNo app, money is collected for the North Sea Foundation, which is committed to keeping the sea and beaches clean. In 2019, the North Sea Foundation collected 10,000 kilograms of waste from Dutch beaches. In addition, numerous caps, cigarette filters and balloon remains were picked from the beaches.

With the PhoNo app you not only help the environment, if you are caught by the police with a phone in your hand while cycling, you can expect a fine of 95.00 euros. In the PhoNo app you set a personal goal with which you can motivate yourself. You get points for every ride you cycle. If the app is active, you can interrupt it if necessary. You can control your music via the headset itself. You can also take on the challenge with your friends, because you can invite them via the PhoNo app. You can do this via the icon with the few dolls, after which you enter the personal code of your friend.
