Problems activating Apple products after Christmas
There is a problem with Apple’s servers preventing iPhone and other products from being activated after Christmas. Apple mentions a connection problem with iCloud accounts.
On its system status site, Apple indicated :
Some users are affected. Some users may experience a problem with this service.
The blackout has taken place since December 25 in the morning. It started at 10:45 am according to Apple. We imagine that many people have received an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or other for Christmas. There was therefore a significant number of connections to Apple’s servers for activation. This can be understood. But the fact that the problem is still relevant this morning is surprising. Apple usually corrects failures within a few hours.
Did you receive an iPhone, iPad, Mac or other at Christmas and can’t activate it? You can’t do anything in particular at this time. We have to wait for Apple to do the necessary for its servers. We can only hope that it will soon be ancient history. It’s been 24 hours already.
Besides activation, the blackout can cause problems for anyone looking to sign in to iCloud for a variety of reasons.
