Samsung Galaxy Note 9 no longer gets a monthly update

Samsung has made changes to the update policy of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Until now, the smartphone could count on a monthly security patch.

Galaxy Note 9: no monthly updates

In the summer of 2018, there was the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. We tested the device extensively in the Galaxy Note 9 review. The manufacturer has so far updated the device monthly with updates, which we only welcome here and from which many manufacturers can learn. Now something is going to change.

After three years, Samsung will stop rolling out monthly security updates for the large smartphone from the Note series. The roll-out of updates for the Note 9 is not completely stopped. Samsung shows in its overview that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 can expect an update every quarter from now on. This will probably be another year, as is the case with the Note 8.
