Nokia was dissatisfied with its own rollout to Android 11

The rollout of Android 11 for the various Nokia devices was not exactly without a struggle. Nokia is not happy with this entire update campaign, the company reports in an interview.

Nokia dissatisfied with Android 11 rollout

With the Nokia brand name, HMD Global has always insisted on a good update policy and has always emphasized this well. We have now arrived at Android 12, where two devices from the manufacturer have now received the update; the X10 and the X20. However, the brand has now also commented on the manufacturer’s previous update policy. DroidApp had previously reported problems with updates; and this week Wim informed us that some devices are still a bit behind with security updates, the Nokia X20 is still waiting for the December update.

In an interview with Android Authority let Nokia know that they felt they had not had much success with the rollout of Android 11. According to Stephan Taylor of HMD Global, the company has learned from that. The rollout of Android 11 took a lot of time and there was also considerable delay. Because Nokia did not participate in the beta program of Android 11, the company said it also ran into problems. By drawing lessons from these experiences, the update should go better. Taylor refers to the Nokia X20 and Nokia X10, which both recently received the Android 12 update.

Last week the news appeared that Nokia may ask users who want to receive updates for longer.
