Microsoft Defender released for smartphone and tablet: this is what you can do with it

Microsoft has released its well-known security tool Microsoft Defender for various platforms. The service is now available for computers, smartphones and tablets.

Microsoft Defender for Android

A new security tool has been released for Android. It is Microsoft’s tool, which goes by the name Microsoft Defender for Individuals. In the app you have access to the security status of your devices that are linked to your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, which is required for this. This allows you to add up to five devices to the dashboard.

With Microsoft Defender for Android, anti-virus protection is provided. It can scan for malicious apps and check links for phishing. The application updates in real time and can also provide tips to be safer online. More features are planned, according to Microsoft.

If you have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, you can view the security status of up to 30 devices on the dashboard of the app. A 365 subscription costs 7.00 euros (Personal) or 10.00 euros (Family). This subscription offers not only Defender, but also cloud storage, the use of Microsoft Office services such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint and several other extras.
