Memix
Memix is another app that you can download just as quickly and that allows you to create memes without having to sign up or pay money. As soon as you open it for the first time you immediately see a whole category of random memes with no text, but once you place a search, that text will appear. You can also choose other categories, such as the holidays, to find a slightly more specific meme.
It works very simply. Just pay attention to what you’re looking for. If you search in the search bar in the first screen, you search specifically by categories. If you tap on a meme and then type in a word, that word will appear in or with the meme. Sometimes just with the well-known white letters underneath and sometimes even in the meme itself. Then a character from The Nightmare Before Christmas takes a cup from the cupboard and it shows what word you have typed.
Fast comebacks
So if you have a friend who always says: ‘Have a nice seat’, you can now very easily turn it into a moving meme (even a gif). Very nice. For example, the writer of this article had a lot of fun picking out a proper meme for Androidworld, which you can see above. It’s very easy, it goes very quickly and you’re actually laughing all the time before you make your final choice.
Memix is good in its simplicity. You get the chance to share your meme immediately on, for example, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat. Although you can also download it and distribute it via other apps (Twitter, Gmail or even Marktplaats messages, although you may wonder whether you should want that in the latter category). That simplicity is useful, but sometimes you would like something more, for example choosing what color the letters are, or adding a nice glitter. You can’t, unless you choose a meme where it happens to be that color.
Nothing but praise for this handy app. Especially when you want to make a meme, you often need speed: otherwise your entire momentum is gone. Memix is an app that seems to fully understand that. Good luck!
