Man Nienke Plas responds to photo fuss: ‘Unexpected’

It is the photo below in which her daughter prince (ses) is sleeping wonderfully with her legs apart. Her mother, comedienne after all, thought she was joking and added ‘That’s promising. #keepthemclosed’ bee. The caption has now been changed to ‘chill mode on’.

Many followers could not, to put it mildly, not laugh about it and even call on Nienke to be unfollowed. Some of the strong reactions:

• Exploiting your kids on social media is one thing. Making them shit isn’t really funny either. But posting such photos and then with such a text? That it comes to mind! Very sick.’
• “What a strange caption to put on a baby, let alone your own child.”
• ‘I’m going to unfollow you on this one, what a misplaced caption for a BABY.’
• “How humiliating for such a baby, with that text.”
• ‘I just can’t. Do you know how many pedophiles are scouring the internet for pictures like this?’
• “You are her mother and should protect and nurture her. Honestly, GAD DAMN the only thing that comes to mind.’

Although there are also followers for Nienke:

• ‘Oooow a baby with clothes lying spread-legged (just like any other baby) sleeping…. That just can not be! #beingsarcastic’.
• ‘Humour is no longer allowed these days and everyone sees things in photos that are not there….. As if the child has been photographed naked. It is not Nienke who misses the mark here, but you with your over-anxious idiotic remarks’.

Unexpected

Her manager, and partner, Resley has commented to RTL Boulevard. He says that Nienke had not expected her joke to cause so much excitement. ‘When you post something, you don’t do it with the idea that a lot of people will react to it or disagree with it. So then you’re surprised and you wonder if you misjudged that.’ He thinks the comments go too far. ‘Nienke has humor that you like or you don’t.’
