Make your Switch completely retro with new controllers
At least, new old controllers that you can now get for your Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch is a fun new approach to gaming. Can be used as a portable device, but also with the ‘joy-cons’ that you can detach as a set of controllers. This is how Nintendo continues to distinguish their consoles from each other.
Old controllers for your Switch
You can now make your Switch a little more retro with a set of new controllers that Nintendo is releasing. These are exclusive to Switch Online users who will be able to enjoy special Sega Genesis games next month, including a slew of N64 titles. To make it a bit more authentic, retro controllers are being released especially for these users for these games. Nintendo announced that on Twitter.
One of these controllers is of course a ‘normal’ N64 controller. The other is a Sega Mega Drive controller, that simple device. Both controllers for your Switch have been made a bit extra modern, for example with the option of wireless connection. The Mega Drive controller has also been slightly modernized, with extra buttons to slightly improve the functionality.
Japan
The latter is unfortunately exclusive to Japan. The rest of the controllers for your Switch can be ordered in more regions. Export of the Mega Drive controller is also possible.
