LG Velvet gets the beta version of Android 11

If we do not count the LG Wing, then the LG Velvet is the most interesting smartphone of this manufacturer in 2020. It does not try to attract with its maximum equipment or cameras, it plays more on emotions. At the moment, it is possible to buy it in Slovak stores for a price below 500 euros, which is very interesting.

The device supports 5G, the performance is taken care of by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which can also be found in OnePlus Nord, for example. The battery has a capacity of 4300 mAh and there is a fast charge with a power of 30 W. There are three cameras on the back.

LG Velvet: Android 11 only in beta so far

The XDA-Developers portal now informs that the LG Velvet is receiving a beta version of Android 11. As you know, LG is not one of the manufacturers who are having a hard time with updates. He often does not update his models. The best smartphones from competing manufacturers have already been updated, but better later than never.

The beta version of Android 11 for LG Velvet will be available in South Korea first. Users outside this country will be able to install it later. We don’t know when the full version of Android 11 will come. The first beta version offers several new features.

Worth mentioning are, for example, the platoon headers in the message application, the ability of the native photo application to read QR codes, the ability to change the size and position of the software keyboard or the ability to check the deleted notification history. Features will only increase with new beta versions.

Competition and their update on Android 11

The competition is also working hard to update their smartphones to Android 11. The Samsung Galaxy S20 family has already received the update, and now the Galaxy Note 20 is being added. Xiaomi is focusing on her MIUI 12 extension along with Android 11.
