Petal Maps 2.0

Huawei has released Petal Maps 2.0. Due to the US sanctions against Huawei, the new models cannot be delivered with the Google services, so it is also without Google Maps. Huawei has launched Petal Maps for this, a map service that is constantly being expanded with new functions.

From now on there is support for offline maps. This allows you to save data, just like in Google Maps, for example when on holiday abroad. You can set these maps to be updated automatically via a WiFi connection. You can also indicate that offline maps are given priority when searching for maps, planning routes and navigation. There is also the Video Map, where you can explore the world through videos.

Another new feature is voice search, which allows users to search for specific destinations while driving. There is also a classification system, where you can earn points and medals. There are also Air Gestures that can be used on devices with a ToF sensor, such as the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. So you can zoom in and out with gestures. Petal Maps is now available in more than 140 countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium. The app can be downloaded from the AppGallery and Play Store on supporting devices.
