We are introduced to the new Honor Magic V, the latest foldable smartphone from the Chinese Honor. The manufacturer has provided the device with the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which is the latest chipset from Qualcomm. There is 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of storage. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 12 with the Magic UI 6.0 skin from the company itself. We also see a 4750 mAh battery which can be charged quickly with 66W.

The Honor Magic V has a 6.45-inch Full-HD+ OLED screen on the front with a refresh rate of 120Hz. When opened, the Honor is equipped with a 7.9-inch screen, making it larger than the 7.6-inch screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. It is also an OLED screen, although this screen delivers a refresh rate of 90Hz. The resolution is 2272 x 1984 pixels and the screen has HDR10+ and 10bit color support.

There are three lenses of 50 megapixels each on the back of the device. Both the main lens, a wide angle lens and a color spectrum lens. The selfie camera consists of two 42-megapixel lenses. In addition, the smartphone has additional extras. Think of a special security chip that should ensure that sensitive information is secured. It can also handle IMAX video content and there is a special cooling system.

Honor will only release the smartphone in China for the time being. The price there, without taxes and the like, comes to an amount of 1385 euros. Nothing is known about a coming to Europe. There have been reports for some time about Honor’s European comeback, but we have not yet received concrete messages about this.
