Google rolls out major Material You update for ‘Find My Device’

If you have lost your Android device, the Find My Device app can be a useful addition. You see which phones were last seen where. Good news; a major Material You update is rolling out to the app.

Find My Device with Material You

Google is rolling out a major update to the Find My Device app for Android. With the application you can quickly find a lost or misplaced phone or tablet, or for example your headset such as the Pixel Buds. The current version of the application is far from modern in design. The green-colored application has not been updated with a new lick of paint for a long time, but that is now changing, thanks to a major Material You update for the application from Google itself.

Where previously the options for calling up a lost smartphone were ugly in a list, that has now been smoothed out with beautiful design improvements. In the application you immediately have the option to play a sound, or to lock the device (extra) remotely. In addition, you can immediately see which devices are connected to your Google account and Find My Device. You can also see directly on the map where the device you are looking for is located. There is also a dark theme that you can use.

The update is being rolled out in phases and knowing Google, it can take a while. When it is available, you will immediately see it appear in the Google Play Store.
