Google announces Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro: also for the Netherlands

Google today announced two new smartphones during the Made by Google event. They are the long-awaited Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Both devices are now official and are also coming to the Netherlands! That was about time.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro announced

In May, Google presented its own teasers of the new Pixel 7 devices. This happened during Google I/O. In the months that followed, news about the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro appeared regularly. Now it’s time for the two devices to be officially announced; and to get straight to the point: they are coming to the Netherlands. We have listed the details of the two devices for you.

Both smartphones come on the market with Android 13, of course with the well-known improvements possibilities that the platform has to offer. For example, Material You has been further improved and you can make various interface adjustments such as the shape of icons. The design of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is largely reminiscent of that of the predecessor, the Pixel 6 series. The camera bar on the back of the phones is what catches the eye the most. The housing is made of aluminum.

Google promises a lot of improvements for the camera. For example, several tools that we saw earlier in Google Photos can be found again in the Pixel 7 models. With the Magic Eraser unwanted objects in a photo can be erased, as it were. With Real Tone, the skin color is captured more faithfully. With Photo Unblur, blurs should be a thing of the past.

In terms of privacy and security, Google has also made the necessary improvements. As with the previous generation, the company promises three years of Android updates and five years of security updates. Furthermore, the VPN via Google One is available at no extra cost to those with a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro. You also have all security settings in one overview.
