Widgets give your iPhone’s home screen a new look. More and more of these special apps are also being added. We show the coolest widgets of 2022 for your iPhone, which you probably don’t know yet.

Widgets are small apps with various functions that you put on the home screen of your iPhone. The default widgets are nice, but there are some limitations. With the following app you get widgets with more options and you can really make something beautiful out of it.

1. Photo widget

With the default Photos app, you can already put a photos widget on your screen. The only problem with that is that you can’t set photos yourself. With the Photo Widget app, you don’t have that problem. You can use this to indicate which photo you want to use in the widget.

Launch the app, tap Widget, then tap Photo at the top. Then create an album with ‘Create Album’ and choose the photos you want to use. Then add the widget to your screen. After that, press and hold your finger on the widget and choose the album you just created.

2. Bears Countdown

Bear Countdown is a sort of calendar app for your iPhone. But you can also call it a ‘countdown app’. The widget shows how long it is before your birthday, for example, or how many days you have to wait until you go on vacation. All this accompanied by cute drawings.

3. MD Vinyl

The MD Vinyl app works with Apple Music and puts a record player widget on your home screen. You can use the app for free for 200 songs, but after that it costs 0.99 euros to use unlimited.

When you tap the widget during playback, you can also skip to the next song or open Apple Music. The app doesn’t do anything special, but let’s face it: such a moving record player on your screen is nice, isn’t it?

4. Wikipedia

Wikipedia’s widget is a lot of fun because it allows you to choose what to see in the widget. You can choose from an image of the day, what happened earlier on this day or which article is currently the most popular on the site. This makes Wikipedia one of the best iPhone widgets, even in 2022.

5.Battery widget

Your iPhone already has a built-in battery widget, but the Smart Battery app has more options. For example, you can see how much storage is still available and how much mobile data you have already used this month. You do have to set in the app how much data you have to use each month.

6. Standland

Standland is a fun widget that’s good for you too. The app keeps track of how many times you get up per day. This will unlock new cute monsters that will take place in your widget. Nice to brighten up your home screen and to ensure that you don’t sit for too long.

We’ve discussed this widget before, but it remains one of the best widgets for your iPhone. Color Widgets has many different widgets that you can use. It is even possible with the app to customize the icons of apps.

One of the nicest parts is the ‘photos widget’. You choose the photos you want to show. However, there are many more options, such as a striking clock with date or a special weather widget. You can read more about this in the article below.

To use an app’s widget, you must first install the app from the App Store. You often have to start the app again before you can use the widget. To add the widgets to your home screen of your iPhone or iPad, follow the steps below.

• Press and hold your finger on an empty spot until the apps start to wiggle;
• Press the button with the plus sign (top left);
• In the list, tap the widget you want to place or type the name of the app in the search box;
• Once you’ve opened the widget, choose the look you want and tap ‘Add widget’;
• Drag the widget where you want it and tap Done.
