The forgotten phone: Samsung U700 from 2007

Samsung introduced the popular Samsung U600 in 2007. In the same year, the Korean manufacturer also launched the Samsung U700. A beautiful, thin device with excellent features. We discuss the device in ‘The forgotten telephone’.

In ‘The forgotten phone’ we have already discussed the Samsung U600 in detail. The device was part of the stylish U-line. This device appeared in 2007, and in the same year the Samsung SGH-U700 was also presented with a thickness of only 12.1 millimeters. According to the manufacturer, the device is inspired by the sparkling jewels.

In addition to a beautiful design, the device was also well equipped for that time. There was support for HSDPA and the 2G network. On board the Samsung U700 was a 2.2 inch display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone could be operated with the circular navigation key below the screen and the touch-sensitive keys below the screen. The navigation key could also be rotated for easy scrolling. The device was equipped with Samsung’s own TouchWiz interface.

The Samsung U700 was a so-called slider phone, so the keyboard appeared by sliding the top upwards. Furthermore, the device was equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. The device had about 20MB of storage space, which could be expanded with a microSD card. The battery had a capacity of 690 mAh.
