Fossil comes with new ‘Fossil Gen-6 smartwatch’: this is what you need to know

Fossil has released a new generation of smartwatch. The new Fossil Gen-6 smartwatch is equipped with Wear OS and will be available in different variants in the shops. We list the details.

Fossil is known for its watches, but the company also has smartwatches. That line is now being expanded further with the Fossil Gen-6 smartwatch. The Gen-6 watch is equipped with a Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset and this should ensure less energy consumption and faster performance. It is striking that the smartwatch will only be offered an update to Wear OS 3 later and that it is not supplied with it as standard. This update will become optional. After updating, the watch must be reset again, it was previously announced.

The Fossil Gen-6 smartwatch comes with a 1.28 inch OLED screen. This provides a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels. There is also 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. This makes the smartwatch almost comparable to the previous model.

The watchmaker releases the Gen 6 watches in different styles and colors. You can choose from the sizes 42mm and 44mm. You can also choose from different straps. The smartwatches are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, WiFi and a blood oxygen sensor.

The prices are now known only for America. These are between 299 and 319 dollars. In the US, the Fossil will be available September 27.
