Zkuste si first person Golden Axe v Doomu » Vortex

There is no point in debating the Doom’s immortality at length. In addition to completely new projects, it also repeatedly attracts the attention of those authors of modifications who want to connect it with other classics. At Vortex, we have already written like this about trying to crossover the cult event from id Software and Metal Gear. We will stay one foot in Japan even in the case of a new project.

Mud BBblazkowicz is working on a first person version of the classic Golden Ax from Sega in the Dooma engine. You can do his project yourself to try in the pre-alpha version he released last week. He himself advises that you will need the latest version of GZDoom. There is a first level called Village Outskirts.

The combat system is, of course, completely different from the shooter and was inspired by the famous beat ’em up. The mod comes with old-new music, sound effects and graphics and also offers special abilities, which at least we in the nineties called simply and simply magic. It works just like in the original, and the same goes for replenishing health by beating elves. So far, however, it is not possible to saddle favorite monsters.

Of course, this and other functions will increase over time. During the fight, your task is also to save the villagers before they are escorted out of the world by your enemies. In exchange, you can gain extra health. All three favorite heroes are available to choose from, even though we all know that dwarf is the best and in the coop the other player has to marry a girl for magic. The second level, or map, if you will, should be a mixture of Turtle Village and Ruins from Golden Ax II, revealed BBblazkowicz, which, of course, according to the author, involves a lot of playing classics.

Other words are useless. We can only hope that the enthusiasm of the author will last long enough to complete his project. And if you still don’t have enough of the Golden Ax, you can recall the canceled prototype of the improved classic, which Sega released last year on the occasion of the company’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
