Elden Ring: Blackguard Quest Solve – Complete Walkthrough

The Blackguard is an NPC in Elden Ring that you can meet at the Shrimp Cooker Hut in Elden Ring and has a quest ready for you. In our walkthrough we guide you through all the steps of the Blackguard quest and show you the rewards at the end.

Start quest from Blackguard

In order for you to get the Blackguard quest at all, you have to before starting Rya’s quest. To do this, speak to her in the pavilion just east of the Picturesque Isle location of grace in southern Liurnia. Use the telescope symbol on the map for orientation. The pavilion is on the right.

She asks you to retrieve her necklace from a villain. Agree to help her so that the quest can continue. The villain is Blackguard, who sits a little northwest of Rya’s location, next to the shrimp cooker shack.

Talk to him and ask him about the necklace. He’s willing to sell it to you for 1,000 runes or you can just kill him to loot the necklace from him. Of course, to start the quest from Blackguard, you should not choose the latter option. Buy the necklace from him and bring it back to Rya to complete her part of the quest.

Important NOTE: You must at least complete these first few steps of Rya’s quest before you meet her again in House Vulcan in Gelmir. If you don’t do this by then, you won’t be able to complete the Blackguard quest either!

Buy cooked shrimp

Once you’ve bought Blackguard’s Necklace, you can talk to him again and he’ll offer you his cooked shrimp for sale. In order for the quest to continue, you need to buy at least some shrimp from him for 600 runes.

This will make you friends with him and he will give you the as a reward spread gesture. In addition, you can now summon Blackguard later in the Ruined Abyss before the boss “Magma Wyvern Makar” to help. However, this is not necessary for the further course of his quest.

Meet Blackguard on Altus Plateau

Next, Blackguard sets up camp on the Altus Plateau. Here you can find him just north of the Capital Wall in the waters. You can still access his shop and he now sells Cooked Shrimp in addition to Cooked Shrimp.

In addition, you can use the “About the Dung Eater” option.‘ to the red NPC with the many smallpoxes in Round Table Keep. He warns you emphatically about him. From here on, the Dungeater and Blackguard quests overlap heavily.

Release Dung Eaters from the dungeon

Now follow the quest from Dung Eater first. You need one for that Find Curse of the Seedbed and then show it to Dungeaters in Round Table Hold. Then he gives you the Sewer Dungeon Key, which you can use to free him from his dungeon in the subterranean Reservation of Shame below Leyndell. We show you the exact locations for this in the video above from 5:36.

Once you have opened his dungeon door and spoken to him, the message “I will desecrate you next” will appear at his original location in Round Table Keep. Come to the outer moat.”. Now Blackguard’s quest continues as well.

Complete the quest with Blackguard and Dungeater

Now go back to Blackguard and choose the again Conversation option “About the Dung Eater.”. He will then tell you that Dung Eater is already lurking around there somewhere.

Now fast travel to the nearest Place of Mercy and then return to Blackguard. He is now tied to a chair covered in blood and shares some last words with you. Then you can loot it and get:

• curse of the seedbed
• Blackguard Soundbead
• Iron Ball (Handgun)
• Blackguard Iron Mask

Immediately afterwards, dung eaters will also invade your world and attack you. Defeat him to get this as a reward Milos sword to obtain. The Blackguard quest ends here, but Dungeater continues further.

Important NOTE: If you experienced Dungeater’s invasion at this point without playing Blackguard’s quest to the point where he sets up camp in Altus Plateau, you won’t get the Curse of the Seedbed from his corpse. However, there are a total of 6 locations for this item in the game and you only need 5 of them for Dungeaters Quest. So you can still complete his quest.
