We’re used to getting messages and other notifications on our phones all day long, but Earlynote really wants to make messages special. In this app you will receive a message, but its content will only be visible at a time chosen by the sender.

Dutchman Cem Yildiz says the inspiration for this app came from something his wife did years ago, just before their wedding. “We decided to write each other a letter, seal it in an envelope and agree that we won’t be able to open it for another 20 years. When we were writing the letters, it felt like we were going into the future, and when we opening and reading the letters was like traveling back in time. This idea forms the basis for this app, which was developed in Amsterdam.

Message with delay

So in Earlynote you can create a message and edit an image yourself and then send it to a friend. The recipient immediately gets the message, but the pixels are blurred, because you have preset how long it will take before the content is revealed. As that moment gets closer, pixels also become clearer and there is a certain build-up of tension.

In Earlybird you can also simply send messages to each other, possibly to give some hints about the postponed message. It is important to know in advance that the sender can no longer withdraw his postponed message once it has been sent, such as a time capsule. A fixed recording of the moment you send it.
