100 Years of Warner Bros: The Film and Television History of the Renowned Film Studio on HBO Max

Warner Bros, everyone has watched one or more films from this well-known studio. From the popular Harry Potter film series and blockbusters such as Superman and Batmanto old classics such as Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Together with Columbia Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney, Warner Bros. is one of the largest film studios in America and is therefore part of The Big Five.

Since May this year 100 Years of Warner Bros hatched. This documentary series takes a look at the historical history of the famous Warner Bros. Four episodes of approximately 60 minutes take you through time and you learn more about the influences this studio has had on art and culture. Highly recommended in our opinion!

The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of

The first installment of the Warner Bros series delves into the past, taking you to the beginnings of the studio in 1920. Here you can see more about how the founders, four brothers with the original last name Wonskolaser, started their own film company together. The brothers dare to go from silent films to films with sound or ‘talkies’. They do so while battling Nazism in World War II and dealing with family betrayal. The story is told by Morgan Freeman, arguably the industry’s best storytellers. A beautiful first episode, which shows how big the dreams of the Warner brothers are.

The second episode focuses on the 60s and 70s. This time was turbulent and so was the Warner Brothers. Here’s how the company thrives and grows after a historic sale and CEO change. Warner Bros. is going to be a storytelling prodigy, with many key projects. Movies like Bonnie and Clyde, Space Oddyssey, The Shining and The Exorcists. They are all laudatory films that are still very popular. As far as we’re concerned, these films are all worth watching if you need more film tips.
