Cyberpunk 2077 received the first of the larger -apkrig patches

Ten days ago, the developers of the CD Project apologized to founder Marcin Iwiński for the current state of Cyberpunk 2077 and presented an updated schedule for future fixes, expansions and improvements to the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Everything should arrive in exactly this order, which the developers underline by making a first commitment in the form of a larger patch that moves the game to version 1.1. The developers talked about it at the end of last year and indicated that together with the next update to version 1.2 it will be a significant intervention in the functioning and stability of the game. However, it turns out that the patch is not as big as the developers forwarded, even after installing it, a lot of bugs remain in the game, and what’s more, there are completely new ones.

First of all, the patch has a different size on all platforms. If you’re playing on a PC, the Steam version of the game will require a 6-9 GB download, while the GOG version will only download 1.1 GB. You will download less than 17 GB on the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, and it is clear that the people from the RED Project CD focused on these platforms. “In this update, we bring you several improvements to the stability pages, which can be found in the notes. We will continue this work, whether as part of patch 1.2 or other upcoming updates, “say the developers and provide the usual list of all addressed bugs and shortcomings.

In order to run as smoothly as possible, the use of operational memory has been modified, which has a positive effect on the functioning of the characters, their interaction with the player, world navigation, artificial intelligence, street traffic or the destruction of the environment. Bugs that caused the game to crash, whether it occurred while loading / saving the game or entering specific locations, were also to be fixed. Furthermore, the developers confirm that they have fixed the missions that include rescue Delamain taxi services and also addressed the disappearance or continuing interaction of important story characters, preventing the story from continuing in these cases. This applies to missions with Judy, Takemura and Jackie, who, for example, did not call back in specific missions and did not help to retrieve an older saved position. Lastly, the developers mention details such as bad fonts, the visible trajectory of the grenade in photo mode, gaining achievements on Steam while playing offline, or inappropriate textures.

On paper, the patch appears to be a routine but very welcome improvement to the game, but under an official post on the game’s website and subsequently in other places, the players made it clear a few hours after the release that they were not satisfied this time either. They agree, for example, that the missions for Delamain have not been fixed and that there is no desired interaction in version 1.1. This is confirmed by players on both the PC and the PlayStation, and we have found only a minimum of reactions in which players would claim otherwise. The big topic is also the mentioned Takemura in the mission Old acquaintances, who already calls the main character, but does not start talking and the player gets stuck in this silent conversation forever. The user with the nickname GabrielJFreire on Reddit then listed other bugs that, according to his findings, remain in the game and players will have to wait for their correction. It’s about glitches, the behavior of artificial intelligence, non-functional perks, hacking problems and a lot of other things that prevent other players from playing or completing missions, and therefore the whole game.
