Even before CES has started, the first reports of new tech products are already trickling in. Invoxia’s smart dog collar for four-legged friends is so much fun you’ll almost want to buy a dog for it.

There are of course various trackers for sale that allow you to track your dog (or cat). However, this smart collar from Invoxia throws in a bunch of other features. With this collar it is also possible, for example, to monitor the breathing and heart rate of your trusted four-legged friend.

For smartwatches such as the Apple Watch Series 7 and activity trackers such as the Fitbit Charge 5, it is important that the band is fairly tight against the skin. Otherwise it is not possible to measure the heart rate. It is understandable that this technique causes problems in animals with a thick coat.

According to the makers, the smart collar for your dog does not suffer from this. The collar contains a kind of miniature radar to carry out these kinds of measurements. This has the advantage that it does not matter for the smart collar how thick the coat of the dog is. This allows the collar to be worn loosely.

The smart collar not only gives you a glimpse into your dog’s vital signs, but can also record his daily activities. This way you know when your dog is sleeping or sprinting (following the postman). He will also indicate when your four-legged friend is eating, drinking, barking or even scratching behind his ears.

Besides the fact that it is nice to see what your dog is up to, it is sometimes also very useful. For example, do you have multiple dogs? Then it is sometimes a solution to know which dog is going to eat when. Does your Malamute have a tendency to run away? Then you can easily find out where your buddy has gone with the app on your iPhone.

In addition, some dog breeds are prone to, for example, heart problems. The smart collar can then help to prevent a possible problem.

Only for medium and large dogs

However, we have to disappoint dog lovers with small dogs, such as a Chihuahua. The smart collar is only suitable for medium and large dogs, such as Labrador or Shepherd size. This is because the technology used is too big for small dogs (and cats).

And the price? Invoxia expects the collars to be available around the summer of this year for $99 each. The additional GPS features will cost you $12.99 per month. A European price has not yet been announced.

CES 2022: the largest technology fair in the world

The Invoxia smart collar is one of the new products to be presented at CES. The CES (International Consumer Electronics Show) is the largest technology show in the world, held every year in Las Vegas.

This year the CES will be a day shorter, because many tech companies have canceled their attendance due to the corona virus. The event will be held online and physically this year. Due to corona, the 2021 edition could only be ‘visited’ online.
