AW Poll: What improvements would you like to see in Signal?

It’s Signal week on Androidworld and you can read a lot more news and background information about the messaging app the next days. This time we investigate in the AW Poll.

Singals success

The Signal messaging app is extremely popular due to, among other things, the controversy that has arisen in recent weeks around WhatsApp’s new privacy policy. The app saw its user numbers in the Play Store increase fivefold in a week, reaching the 50 million mark.

More than enough reasons for the Androidworld editors to take a closer look at this messaging app this week. Earlier you read our big comparison between Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Messenger. We also tell you how to get started with the beta of Signal and how to add extra sticker packs to the messaging app. There are also four things that you better adjust immediately when you get started with the app.

Signal’s main selling point has always been security and privacy. Signal works with its own end-to-end encryption (E2EE) protocol that encrypts messages between two users. The code of the app can also be consulted open-source and the app is known for not collecting data from users.

Despite these strong arguments for using Signal, there are still aspects that developers can improve on the service. The clear philosophy of Signal ensures that developers can only add new features if they can function in a safe and privacy-friendly manner. But that’s only a good thing of course. We would like to hear which addition to Signal you think is the most important. Leave your vote in the poll below and also clarify your choice in the comments at the bottom of this article.
