Apple unveils iPhone 13 on September 14
Finally the time has come: Apple has sent out the invitations for the iPhone 13 event! The event will take place on September 14 to 7 p.m. Dutch time place and has the slogan California streaming. It’s not clear how long the presentation will take, but Apple usually runs through all the announcements in one to two hours. The keynote can be followed via a live stream on the Apple website and YouTube.
Due to the coronavirus, the event will take place completely online, just like last year with the iPhone 12. In a pre-recorded video, Apple shows the new iPhones and which innovations the company has implemented.
The Cupertino company always keeps its teeth tight, but we expect that the keynote will mainly be dominated by the iPhone 13. The successor to the iPhone 12 has been keeping people busy for a long time. We expect four smartphones again this year: the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The smallest of the four seems to have a 5.4 inch screen, while the largest would measure no less than 6.7 inches. We expect that Apple will mainly focus on the camera this year. The iPhone 13 Pro (Max) is rumored to be able to shoot portrait videos. Thanks to the depth-of-field effect, the environment becomes blurred, while the subject is very sharp.
Furthermore, the iPhone 13s seem to get a slightly smaller notch. This screen notch is necessary for all kinds of sensors and has been the subject of criticism for years. Finally, we think that the 2021 iPhones will have a longer battery life, partly because of the more efficient hardware.
What else is Apple announcing?
We’ll call the keynote iPhone 13 event for convenience, but it’s not just about new iPhones. The company is also rumored to unveil the AirPods 3. Apple’s earbuds were last updated in 2019. The new version would look more like the more expensive AirPods Pro earbuds and offer better sound.
Also expected: the Apple Watch Series 7. It is almost certain that the new Apple smartwatch will be unveiled during the keynote. We may also get to see the iPad (2021) and iPad mini (2021) this evening, although fewer rumors have appeared about these devices. The release date of iOS 15 is also likely to be announced.
