Honor seems to confirm return of Android smartphones with Google services

Now that Honor is no longer dependent on Huawei, it can get started with things again. The manufacturer has now given a signal that it will return with Android devices, which are equipped with Google services.

Google services on Honor devices

Smartphones from Honor will be equipped with Google services in the future. This was not possible for a long time due to the US trade restrictions, because Honor also fell under the banner of Huawei. Huawei is hit by US trade sanctions because Huawei is accused of espionage. However, evidence has never been found for this.

In order to save the smartphone branch somewhat, Huawei has previously decided to disconnect Honor from Huawei and sell the company. This allows Honor to cooperate with (American) companies, including Qualcomm and Google. It is clear that a smartphone from the Honor 50 series will be equipped with the Snapdragon 778 chipset, which has been newly launched and offers support for 5G.

Interestingly, Honor Germany is responding to a question on Twitter. The question of whether it has Google services is clearly answered with Yes, but that it should be kept still for a while because it is a surprise. The tweet has since been deleted. The fact that the tweet has been removed may also mean that the company will not be offering Google services on the Honor 50 for the time being, but we are hopeful.
