Apple needs a little longer

An iMac with an XL display and a new look is actually long overdue, according to the large number of potential customers. But they have to be patient a little longer, because Apple needs a little longer for this.

iMac 2022 with XL display: Not coming until late summer

Have Apple’s plans changed for the iMac 2022? It looks like it should, should the latest prediction from the mostly well-informed insider and expert Ross Young come true. He assumes that Apple will only launch the computer known as iMac Pro with a larger 27-inch screen in late summer. He’s currently anticipating one Product launch in August or September 2022 at the earliest (Source: Ross Young).

This still sounded more positive in December last year, because Young was still assuming a release in spring. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman later specified that a few weeks ago he was expecting a presentation at an Apple event in March or April at the same time as the presentation of a new iPhone SE and iPad Air. However, Gurman did not want to commit himself one hundred percent, because he was speaking to himself meanwhile from a new Mac. Aside from the iMac Pro, this could also be a updated Mac mini being. We will most likely see such a calculator then.

Twenty years ago, Apple presented us with this classic iMac that still looks damn chic today:

Apple brings a mini LED screen

Young is also sure of one thing: The new iMac Pro will probably be definitely own a mini LED screen, previously there was speculation to the contrary. However, it may be a kind of “mini LED light”, because the display should have fewer so-called mini-LED zones compared to the displays in the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. However, the expert leaves unanswered whether any production problems with this display are the reason for the delay.

Even if there are suitable Apple patents, the new iMac will not look like this just yet. The idea is interesting nonetheless:

The iMac Pro should Design language of the current 24-inch model correspond, but will probably get a new coat of paint, i.e. different colors than the colorful standard model. Inside, an Apple M1 Pro or, if desired, an Apple M1 Max should do their job. Incidentally, an update of the current model with a 24-inch display is not mentioned anywhere at the moment. Sooner or later, however, it will at least have to be equipped with the expected successor chip (M2), but this could also last until 2023.
