6 things you want to know before you buy it (video)

The Google Pixel 6 Pro has arrived at the newsroom. In anticipation of our extensive review, we will already discuss six things that we noticed first during the first days of use. They are things you should know before buying it.

Google Pixel 6 Pro

I’ve had my hands on the Pixel 6 Pro for two full days at the time of writing. While we are working on the review, we will give you advice with six things that I immediately noticed. They’re usually design-related things and you can see them in this YouTube Short.

Are you not able to use those speakers or earphones for a while? We also list the six points below.

1. Big and angular

The Pixel 6 Pro has a 6.71-inch screen. This makes it not only much larger than the Pixel 5, but it also has a very angular design. I can imagine the design isn’t for everyone, but that’s why there’s a regular Pixel 6.

2. The finish on the back

At the time, Google still opted for a matte glass finish with the Pixel 3 series. You had a little more grip in your hand and fingerprints were barely visible. The finish of the Pixel 6 series is completely opposite.

3. About the battery

It’s only an early finding, but the Pixel 6 Pro and its 5,000 mAh battery had about 30 percent left at the end of the day. It was used between 9:00 AM and 11:00 PM. It already gives the impression that the phone has a normal battery life despite the QHD screen with a high refresh rate.

4. The rear camera

For some, the design with the camera arrangement that occupies the entire width of the back is not too great a success. You can’t argue about taste, but I see advantages with this design. Unlike some other phones with a normal camera island, the phone lies completely flat on the table.

5. No problems with the fingerprint scanner (yet)

Again, this is an early claim, but I haven’t experienced any problems with the fingerprint scanner’s accuracy and responsiveness yet. It is not the fastest, but the performance is not disturbing and so far it works accurately.

6. Automatic brightness

Google normally has a great system that determines the automatic brightness for phones based on your remaining battery capacity and the light in your environment. With the Pixel 6 Pro, I saw that the screen sometimes became too dark in one fell swoop under unexpected circumstances. It may be a bug, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
