‘Bigger Apple iPad Pro on the way’ (but it’s not what you think)

Apple is rumored to release an even bigger iPad Pro. Unfortunately, these are minor adjustments (with one exception).

Bigger iPad Pro on the way

Usually reliable analyst Ross Young says Apple is developing an 11.1-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro. The most recent version of the iPad Pro appeared in 2022. This was a 12.9-inch and an 11-inch tablet.

Despite the new iPad Pro being one inch larger, that probably doesn’t relate to the size of the tablet. The screen size is slightly larger, but the bezel (the black frame) will probably be made a bit narrower to provide space for the larger screen.

More changes with larger iPad Pro

According to Ross Young, however, there will be even more changes with the new iPad Pro models. For example, he says that Apple plans to switch to OLED screens. The current iPad Pro 2022 (12.9-inch) has a mini-LED display and the iPad Pro 2022 (11-inch) still has to make do with ‘only’ an LCD screen.

Oled screen Apple iPad Pro and MacBook Air

The fact that Apple is switching to OLED for both versions of the tablet is striking. The best screen was always for the biggest iPad. Now that both iPad Pro versions will have an OLED screen, he says, Apple seems to be moving away from this division. You still have to be patient, because the analyst says that the new Pro models will not be available until 2024.

Ross Young has also mentioned in the past that Apple plans to release an oversized iPad Pro. This 14.1-inch iPad Pro was supposed to appear sometime this year. He now says that Apple does not currently have a 14.1-inch iPad Pro in development.

That does not mean that Apple completely abandons extra large iPad Pro models. According to Bloomberg, Apple is still interested in larger iPad Pros. In addition, rumors about a 16-inch iPad regularly appear.
