33 percent of readers film the public road with a smart camera doorbell

33 percent of readers film the public road with their smart camera doorbell. The police think it’s a good idea if as many people as possible have a smart camera doorbell. Logical, because these act as a camera and can therefore help when something happens in a street or around a house.

Violation of privacy law

It’s vacation time and the police notice that: burglaries are slightly more common. Houses are simply uninhabited in the street for a longer period of time and burglars have an eye on that. Police think it’s a good idea if more people hang up video doorbells. However, you have to be careful with that: that 33 percent of the readers who have pointed their video doorbell at the public road and also have it fully switched on, is actually in violation of the privacy law. You can’t just film the public road day and night.

There are also many people who follow the Dutch Data Protection Authority: 14 percent have pointed their camera at the public road, but privacy institutions do not constantly film it. 19 percent don’t like it all: they don’t have one and don’t want one. 5 percent might want to, but cannot because of the construction of their home or possible agreements with municipalities or landlords. Another 26 percent do not have a camera doorbell, but are considering purchasing. 3 percent think otherwise.

AW Poll

Refrigerator suffers from a problem that makes many people ignore the camera doorbell: “I don’t like that entrance hall in the flat 🤪 and I don’t want to be stuck with abo. We are moving next year and then we will look further.” @tukker does not expect criminals at the front door: “Don’t feel that they come here to report through the front door. By the way, if they break in here, they will go home very disappointed. ”

Well, Tukker, they might be able to take your security camera. Thanks for participating: we’ll be back next week with a new AW Poll!
