1Password app now lets you securely share passwords with others

1Password is one of several services where you can store your passwords. A new update brings an option to securely share passwords with others.

Share passwords

The latest version of 1Password makes it possible for users to share passwords with someone else. For example, if you want to share your Netflix login with your children, or share a protected note with your partner, then sharing the password is not immediately the safest option. 1Password cleverly responds to this. You can also share your password with those without a 1Password account.

Thanks to the share button, which can be found in the 1Password app, login details can be shared with the people you have set up yourself. You can also choose that anyone with the link can use the password. By default a link is valid for 7 days, but this can also be set to an hour, a day, 14 days or 30 days, or when the item is opened. Those with a 1Password account can also add the password to their vault.
