“You need a subscription to use Apple’s AR/VR headset”

Apple is working on an AR/VR headset. According to the latest rumors, the device is even more expensive than we thought.

Read on after the ad.

Rumor: Apple AR/VR glasses cost money every month

Are you eagerly waiting for the Apple AR/VR headset? Then we have no good news for you. You may have to dig even deeper than you thought. According to analysts at trend force users must purchase a software subscription to use the headset. This subscription costs an unknown amount of money every month.

The subscription costs come on top of an already sky-high price of the headset itself. Several sources report that Apple’s AR/VR glasses will cost one thousand, two thousand or even three thousand euros. It is therefore unlikely that Apple will target the device at the general public. The headset’s target audience is said to be primarily software and app developers.

Of course, we’re not sure if this rumor is true. If it were true, we would iPhoned feel a little sorry. Apple is known for its high prices – and you get quality in return – but a subscription to a product goes a long way. Especially because the headset itself is said to cost thousands of euros.

More about the Apple AR/VR headset

According to multiple sources, Apple will launch its first mixed reality glasses in the second half of 2022 or early 2023. The headset is rumored to have an ‘innovative display configuration’, consisting of two micro-OLED screens and a single AMOLED panel. The glasses support both a VR mode and an AR mode.

In addition to three screens, the VR glasses will have different cameras to record hand movements. There may also be a LiDAR sensor on board and the device will get its own chip.
