Yes, we are allowed again: these are the nicest child-friendly terraces

Lido – Rotterdam

The terrace of restaurant Lido is located on one of the decks of cruise ship SS Rotterdam. With your feet in the paddling pool and your child in butterflies in between, you sip the most delicious gin and tonic with your nose in the sun. With a view over the skyline of Rotterdam – need we say more?!

Windmill De Lelie – Scharendijke

Bee locals simply known as The Pancake Mill. Ideal to combine with a bike ride on the Zeeland island, or simply as a destination in itself. The children enjoy themselves in the playground and the farm life, while you sink into the sun. Because: fortunately, the menu offers more than just pancakes.

Brasserie Enjoying – Kaatsheuvel

You have a drink, the children in the adjacent (water) playground. Oh, there is also a special children’s menu so you can eat out with children. Reason enough to stick around for an hour longer.

Vondeltuin – Amsterdam

The Vondeltuin is a large terrace in the southernmost tip of the Vondelpark. While the children are playing in the garden, you can quietly enjoy your drink. Extra relaxed? Then you just flop into one of the relaxed beach chairs.

Anafora – Vleuten

The terrace of Anafora in the Maxima Park is adjacent to the exit of the forest playground: ideal for keeping an eye on your children.

Bruis – Blaricum

A hip restaurant that is completely made for families. Why, you ask? You have a play loft, play houses and outside on the terrace you overlook the large playground.

Water Garden – Schiedam

De Watertuin has locations in Naaldwijk, Spijkenisse, Schiedam, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht and Bergen op Zoom and each location has enough playground equipment for children. The advantage of the location in Schiedam is that it borders a public park with lots of play equipment and a lawn.

Country estate Slavante – Maastricht

This beautiful estate is located on the Sint Pietersberg, so from here you have a beautiful view over the Maas and the Jekerdal. Children can play in the garden while you enjoy a glass of wine from their own vineyard.

Cape Horn – Groningen

Just outside the city you will find Kaap Hoorn, located on the Hoornse Plas. When the sun is shining, you can sit comfortably on the spacious terrace. There is also a playground here where children can enjoy themselves.

Brasserie Waalhaven – Rotterdam

This restaurant is located on the runway of Rotterdam Airport. Not surprising that this place is becoming increasingly popular with parents, because outside you will find a mini-museum, a playground and you can watch airplanes take off and descend.

Dike 59 – Loser

This restaurant is located in the nature reserve between Losser and De Lutte. For the children you have a children’s menu, but even more fun: the huge outdoor playground with adventure course, bird’s nest swing, cable car, climbing tower, large trampoline, football cage and bouncy castle. For the little ones there is a sandbox next to the terrace.

Happy Moose – Zoetermeer

On the edge of the green heart, in the Noord Aa recreation area. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Zoetermeerse Plas, where it is wonderful to splash around in the summer. On the menu you will find the tastiest starters, main courses and tapas (and also check the separate ice cream menu).

Twiske Haven – Oostzaan

The relaxed atmosphere of a beach club, combined with the liveliness of a marina: welcome to restaurant Twiske Haven. You can rent a boat, canoe or pedal boat here and enjoy the water, after which you can relax on the terrace with a snack and drink. For children there is a sandbox and inside a nice play corner.
