Find the app in the App Store and download it to your device. To delete duplicate photos on your iPhone (or iPad), follow these steps.
- Launch Remo Duplicate Photos Remover app and tap on ‘Scan’;
- The app will now scan your photos, wait for it to finish;
- You will see an overview with the number of duplicate photos, tap ‘OK’;
- To be sure, scroll through the found photos to check them and then tap the three dots in the top right;
- Choose ‘Select all’ and tap the trash can at the bottom right;
- Tap “Delete” to confirm the deletion of the photos and wait for the app to finish deleting your photos.
When the Remo Duplicate Photos Remover is almost done scanning your photos during step 2 (or after step 6) it sometimes seems like the app has stopped responding. This seems to happen especially when you have a lot of photos. However, the app will continue after a few minutes. Therefore, wait patiently until the following screen appears.
Find photos that look alike
With the app it is also possible to view the photos that are very similar. When you see the list of duplicate photos found, tap ‘Similar’ at the top right. It is important to go through the list carefully, because the artificial intelligence sometimes makes a mistake with comparable photos.
Recover Deleted Photos on iPhone
Once you’ve deleted the photos with the app, you can always get them back. This is built into the Photos app by default. You can get the photos back on your iPhone in the following way
- Open the Photos app and tap “Albums” at the bottom;
- If necessary, tap ‘Albums’ again at the top left to end up in the album overview;
- Scroll all the way to the bottom, then tap “Recently Deleted.” In it you will find all the duplicate photos that the app managed to delete on the iPhone;
- Tap one of the photos you don’t want to lose, then tap Restore at the bottom right.
