Will Dogecoin become the future currency of the internet?

Dogecoin could become the currency of the internet, many experts say. Elon Musk has an opinion about this, among other things.

Last Thursday was a special one for Shiba Inu. From that day on, it will be possible to trade in this digital currency on Robinhood. Another meme coin came up on that day as well. This was because Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev tweeted about the coin. The tweet states whether Dogecoin could become the future currency of the internet.

Tenev’s Twitter thread got a lot of response and also got responses from the co-founder of the meme-based crypto, Billy Markus, and Tesla’s Elon Musk. Elon Musk’s favorite crypto Dogecoin (DOGE) got some attention on Thursday after Bulgarian-American entrepreneur and Robinhood CEO, Vladimir Tenev, started a thread on the meme token topic. The topic started when Twitter was on fire with comments about Elon Musk’s unsolicited offer to buy Twitter.

“Can Doge really be the future currency of the Internet and the people?” Tenev tweeted this on Thursday. Robinhood’s CEO went on to say that the block time should be fast enough to get into the chain in less time than a point-of-sale (POS) transaction.

Reaction Elon Musk

Elon Musk came then with an answer: ‘Block size and time should keep up with the rest of the internet’. After Tenev’s Twitter statements, Musk responded to the Tesla CEO after a very active day on Twitter. “6 seconds, more accurately like 6,000 milliseconds, which is a long time for computers, is about right,” Musk told Robinhood’s CEO.

Musk has been talking about Dogecoin’s network improvements for quite some time now. Last year he briefly stated a few times that the network should scale to the masses. In Tenev’s thread, Musk added a response to Markus’ opinion “faster, yet secure, the better” and said, “Exactly, block size and time should keep up with the rest of the internet.”
