Getting to know a new city or country is also easy during your working visit. That’s why Samantha sticks a few days to her trip. Just, for a few extra days away.

Samantha (43): “It is mainly the thrill of being on the road and discovering things on your own. Want to get to know a new city or country? Awesome. I don’t mind visiting a factory in Pakistan or India for my work.

Working visit

When I go to Asia, I always add a holiday or five days to it. I am very open to everything abroad in a very pleasant way and I always come back full of inspiration, which is quite handy if you are a designer. I also regularly visit interior design fairs. Soon I will be going again: five days in Paris.

At home I say it’s a working visit, but actually I’m busy two days before work and then three days off. Then I hop from exhibition to exhibition and in between I visit all kinds of shops. As the children get older, arranging a babysitter is easier.”
